A List of Fall Fun | Get out and make some memories!
By Monica K. Guthrie
Toward the end of August a friend of mine asked on Facebook for people to share their favorite fall activities. She said she was putting together a list of things to do with her family this fall but that thus far all of her activities had to do with cooking. She needed help.
“Girl,” I thought to myself. “I don’t even cook. I definitely need some help doing fall things.”
I’ve never been into “fall.” I don’t like pumpkin spice (I don’t even like coffee), I don’t really like pumpkin at all – except for the seeds. I’d much rather throw my efforts into a holiday like Christmas (helps my birthday is in December so I feel the extra joy of the season). But something inside me said “if you want to be a good mom, you have to like fall.” I know it wasn’t true, but I felt pressured. I want to make lists of fun things to do with my family.
So… you figured it out (in fact, many of you probably just skipped the entire intro and went for the list – I’m not mad) – here is my list of fall things to do this fall (from now until Thanksgiving Day) divided by categories like “food” and “crafts.” Check it out and then add yours in the comments below!
